The Brisbane Gang Show is a variety musical produced by Scouts Queensland each year, and in 2021 is performing at the Draney Theatre – Marist College, Ashgrove. The cast is made up of approximately 140 young people between the ages of 9 and 25 from both the Scout and Guide movements. The production is family friendly with special school holiday prices available for the matinee performances. The Brisbane Gang Show is Australia’s longest running Gang Show and has been running consecutively in Brisbane since 1952.
Over the years the Brisbane Gang Show has seen several Producers – Jack Hair (1952-1957), Jack Haffenden (1958 – 1960), Hugh “Kirra” McKee (1958 – 1982), Jim Dryden (1983-1988), Peter Blatch (1989 – 1999), Brian Craig (2000 – 2005), Geoff Doo (2006 – 2014) and Trevor O’Hara (2015- 2021). Rhiannah Boch is now the Director of the Brisbane Gang Show and is the first female Director of the show in its 70 years history. These Producers/ Directors have helped shaped the Brisbane Gang Show as one of Queensland’s leading amateur theatrical productions.
In 2021 the Brisbane Gang Show celebrated the 70th consecutive season. To celebrate 70th Brisbane Gang Show a second edition of the Great, Great Game Book “It’s Still A Great, Great Game” book has been written.
