Cast Member Expectations: To be a member of the cast – you need to be aware of the expectations of cast members – please review this list and the Brisbane Gang Show Code of Conduct (Click Here) before you consider applying in 2026.
The Dairy is now available (CLICK HERE), rehearsals will start on Sunday 22 February 2026 and expected show season is 3-11 July 2026.
Please ensure you review the cast member terms and conditions listed below before applying for the 2026 season. By applying to be part of the 2026 Brisbane Gang Show cast you agree to the below terms and conditions.
- Applications are open to All current members of Scouts Queensland or Girl Guides Queensland within the following ages:
- Scouts must be 9 years of age by Opening night,
- Girl Guides must be at least 13 years of age by Opening night.
- All Applicants must have not yet reached their 26th birthday by Closing Performance (11 July 2026).
- Applications outside of these age ranges may be agreed at the Production Directors discretion.
- Apply online each year to be part of the Cast which includes providing personal and health information in the second part of the online process after auditions.
- Attend an audition involving – singing part of your own chosen song, acting out lines from a sketch provided to you on the day, participating in a short dance routine and answering questions asked by the audition panel. Auditions determine roles for each cast and not all applicants who audition may be accepted into the cast. Review the auditions page of this website to help you prepare.
- Agree to participate and be available for the season’s rehearsal schedule as per the diaries available on this BGS website involving all rehearsals and camps. For over 15’s this includes each Tuesday Night rehearsal as required. Absence from Rehearsals for other Scouting or Guiding activities will be considered, however attendance from 17th May onwards, and at all Performances (including Dress rehearsals) is compulsory. Any more than three absences may result in termination of membership with the Gang.
- If under 18 – complete travel authority details as part of the application process to allow you to travel to and from rehearsals with people who are not your own Parents / Guardians.
- Agree to sign in & sign out at rehearsals in accordance with established procedures.
- If over 18 or turning 18 during the season –you must have a current Positive Notice for Working with Children (blue) card, which must remain current throughout the season.
- Pay the cast activity fee prior to February 9, 2026 (the 2026 fee is $190 per cast member including the 2 x rehearsal camps, final night dinner and other inclusions).
- The full instalment of the cast fee is due by at least 9 February 2026. If it’s not paid and contact hasn’t been made to finance@bgs.scoutsqld.com.au you won’t be able to attend the first camp.
- Agree to promote the show actively to all family members, friends, colleagues and other groups in order to assist with ticket sales.
- Cast members agree to try to the best of their ability to sell at least 20 tickets to each years show. (you advise your contacts to provide a name as reference when they make the booking to have these allocated against your name).
- Agree to supply the ‘Personal Wardrobe Items’ per the list distributed each year as part of the season (eg. black shoes, white shoes, joggers, personal support and other clothing items). Please note for Scouts – a button-up uniform shirt with all badges correctly applied will be required. (the polo shirt style Scout uniform is not acceptable on stage at BGS) In addition, you must have the Scout belt and clean, polished black shoes. Members of Girl Guides Queensland will require formal uniform for performances.
- Agree to abide by a rehearsal dress code. Shorts must be respectable in length and pulled up to waist height. Shirts or tops must have sleeves and be long enough that when bending over for dance moves the shirt still falls below the short/pant waistline. Closed-in footwear must be worn at all rehearsals and suitable deodorant applied and available for reapplication as needed.
- Agree to participate in additional Patrol or Section activities as arranged
- Agree to supply a plate of home bake for each camp (per cast member).
- Agree to adhere to BGS and Scouts Queensland social media and personal communication policies.
